Just tried out Linux Mint

5/20/2026

Hello! How are you?

This is gonna be a short blog, but it what says on the tin: I'm gonna try out Linux Mint.

Here is a comparasion of two laptops, one on the left is Windows (10), the right is Linux (Mint).

This one is Windows 10, modified to look like Windows 7. As for some software that were preinstalled via Windows 10, I just simply deleted them. Luckily, it didn't have Candy Crush preinstalled or some shit!

This one is Linux Mint. The theme is Chicago95. If you ever wonder how I got Notepad++, It's just installed via Wine (i.e Right click Notepad++.exe, click "Open with other application" and type "wine".)

I don't really have a bad experience with Windows, I can understand why people hate Windows now (especially since Windows 11 is such a mess).

I don't know if I should switch to Linux Mint (since I use Paint.Net as an pic editor, which I put texts like signature on my arts, so maybe switch to GIMP as editing? Might fully switch to Krita) but I might use my Windows laptop as a backup or something like that.

UPDATE (5/20/2026):

This is what my Linux Mint desktop looks like right now. I'm getting used to it easily. I think that Linux is quite better than Windows since no bloatware bullshit.
